Interpretation is a fundamental component of role-playing, hence the name. Each player attempts to embrace the psychology of their character and see the world through their eyes, through their mind, in order to act consistently. Players sitting around a table or in front of their computers think, make decisions and talk like their characters would do if they were placed in the same game context. Interpretation is regarded by many gamers as the "noble" part, even the purpose, of role-play.
